My buddy and I decided last minute to ride to New Orleans over the Memorial day weekend, 1213 miles in all. Weather was perfect on the 7 hour ride until we hit the New Orleans causeway bridge, about 20 miles long and the sky opened up and soaked us. We couldn’t pull over so we rode through heavy heavy rain.
Stopped at New Orleans Harley Davidson, perfect time to dry out and have a couple Free beers.
From there we headed to the French Quarter to the Hilton hotel, beautiful hotel a mile to Bourbon Street, photos attached.
Spent Saturday evening in the quarter, great dinner and cocktails as well as great live music.
Harley Davidson clothing store right on Bourbon Street.
Sunday we rode for 8 hours, headed through the bottom portion of the state, rode through Houma and then back roads to Baton Rouge hitting the dealerships along the way. Had lunch in Gonzales at Sno’s Seafood and Steak house, awesome food and service.
With an 8 hour day of riding and 93 degrees, we were glad to regroup refresh and head back to Bourbon Street for diner and drinks, had diner at the Red Fish Grill on Bourbon Street, absolutely awesome food and service with a heavy pour on the cocktails, just as I like them.
Monday morning, a good breakfast we hooked it back to Memphis, we did the freeways home and were fortunate traffic was fairly lite.
If you have never been to New Orleans, you need to go and experience the food and entertainment, the rides are decent as well, lots of back roads to experience.
Ride safe….
